* At Nature Maldives, our programs are open to all ages. We believe that learning is richer when generations come together. That’s why we encourage people of different ages to share, learn, and create side by side - whether it’s children learning from elders, or older participants gaining fresh perspectives from the young. Our activities promote intergenerational connection, mentorship, and shared discovery.

Description

This Nature Connect includes a homemade local breakfast.

Moodhu Velinegun focuses on practicing the basics of breath work in the safety of shallow lagoon waters. Imagine floating facedown and gently expanding your lung capacity, reminiscent of locals and their self initiation into the waters. Going back to simple local island life, basic feenun (diving) was practiced by kids, as they competed to dive down into shallow waters and pickup handfuls of sand from the bottom. Participants will also get to try out snorkelling as a way to discover the wonders of the beauty of our oceans.

We will introduce fun games inspired by those played by local kids using colorful rocks or other similar objects that have a high contrast when placed on the soft sand bed, the participants then attempt to dive and retrieve these items. It’s something that can even make adults experience child-like joy, as well as giving your body exercise through play.
