* At Nature Maldives, our programs are open to all ages. We believe that learning is richer when generations come together. That’s why we encourage people of different ages to share, learn, and create side by side - whether it’s children learning from elders, or older participants gaining fresh perspectives from the young. Our activities promote intergenerational connection, mentorship, and shared discovery.

Vashi Viyun is a weaving experience focused on creating a Vashi — a durable basket traditionally used by islanders to store and carry personal items, especially while traveling. This advanced basket requires more precision, control, and layering than the basic Mulhoashi.

Participants will learn shaping techniques and structural reinforcement gaining a deeper understanding of functional palm weaving and its place in Maldivian daily life.
